Over 30 years experience in the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of air moving systems for the
civilian, military, and aerospace industries. More recent technology has permitted 3-D modeling of the fan
components. This is employed to make impellers and housings out of plastic using stereo lithography. Thus a
prototype can be made at a very low cost and tested in a relatively short period of time. The plastic prototype
is tested to insure performance criteria are met prior to going into the final impeller and housing configuration.
Tests can be run at low speeds and the results extrapolated to design conditions using existing performance
scaling relations. With this approach, the time between initial design and first article is on the order of 3 to 4
months. Vaneaxial, mixed flow, and centrifugal fans are all amenable to this type of rapid, low cost, design
and development.

Also designed and developed several vapor cycle, environmental control systems for military and aerospace
applications that were both compact and lightweight with power draw well within the specification
requirements. Designed a 72" diameter mine ventilation fan that could be cut back to several smaller
diameters with reduced flow capacity but producing essentially the same head rise. It also incorporated an
ellipitical blade shape for operation with CW or CCW rotation at the same performance level but reverse flow
direction.

are oversize or overweight.
